We contacted Best Plumbing Service of Cincinnati to have the sump pump and the outlet pipes checked as our basement flooded recently and we were not sure whether the sump pump malfunctioned or the outlet pipe was blocked. Both plumbers did a fantastic job looking over the system, diagnosing, and fixing the problem. They were extremely honest, courteous , and professional. We are very pleased with their outstanding service and would very highly recommend Best Plumbing Service of Cincinnati. M Effat
Gas leaks can happen ...Today we received a call from Shelly R. thanking Luke and Hailey. Here is what she shared with us in her words: “I’m calling to thank Luke and Hailey because today there was a leak in my gas line and Luke found it. I woke today and didn’t have any hot water or heat. So, I called All Comfort Services and Hailey in customer service scheduled a service call for Luke to check my furnace. In the course of the conversation with Hailey, I realized that maybe I needed more gas and kept my appointment with Luke for the afternoon in case. After I got off the phone with Hailey, I contacted the gas company and they came and filled my gas tank. It was strange because the gas company said the tank should have been 50 percent. I just kept my appointment with Luke and I’m glad I did. When Luke came and went into basement he said he could smell gas and used his diagnostic equipment to confirm that there was a gas leak. Luke turned off the gas and even though I was inconvenienced for not having heat or hot water for the day it hit me that something far worse could have happened. Thank you, Hailey and Luke! “ --- 03/27/2018 Shelly R.
Despite the Romans' common use of lead pipes, their aqueducts rarely poisoned people. Unlike other parts of the world where lead pipes cause poisoning, the Roman water had so much calcium in it that a layer of plaque prevented the water contacting the lead itself. What often causes confusion is the large amount of evidence of widespread lead poisoning, particularly amongst those who would have had easy access to piped water.[14] This was an unfortunate result of lead being used in cookware and as an additive to processed food and drink, for example as a preservative in wine.[15] Roman lead pipe inscriptions provided information on the owner to prevent water theft.
We are also a full-service plumbing company, and our comprehensive plumbing services are as effective, reliable, and affordable as our HVAC services. We handle all sewer, water, and gas repairs--one call does it all. We offer expert drain cleaning, water heater sales and service, ultrasound slab leak detection, pipe replacement (including copper repiping), sink and faucet sales and service, toilet sales and service, and even full bathroom remodels. We also offer gas line installation and electric-to-gas conversion. Our experienced plumbers use only the best tools, equipment, and parts to perform plumbing repairs and installations, and our inventory of sinks, toilets, and other products is top-of-the-line. Still, our services remain affordably priced--we are the Inland Empire's best value for quality, reliable plumbing services.

Flexible plastic tubing can be used to circulate hot water below your home’s flooring. This is known as hydronic heating. The water/liquid is stored in a boiler and pushed into a plumbing manifold so that it can be properly circulated throughout your home floors as designed. While this is a very beneficial way to radiate heat through your floors during colder seasons, hydronic heating can develop some serious problems that require plumbing repair.

The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the dominant medium by which information is exchanged on the Internet. An Application Programming Interface (API) is a broad term that defines the rules that guide your interaction with some software. In the case of HTTP APIs, you have a defined set of endpoints that accept particular inputs. Plumber translates the annotations you place on your functions into an HTTP API that can be called from other machines on your network. If you execute your Plumber API on a public server, you can even make your API available to the public Internet.
Noticing high water pressure at plumbing fixtures in your home? Water pressure in the home is similar to blood pressure in the body - it needs to be regulated to keep the system healthy. When unregulated water pressure causes damage to the plumbing system, this can lead to emergency plumbing calls, like flooding. Having a water pressure regulator installed is MUCH more cost-effective than mold remediation or replacing flooring or drywall! So we recommend installing or repairing water pressure regulators to protect your whole home.

The word "plumber" dates from the Roman Empire.[3] The Latin for lead is plumbum. Roman roofs used lead in conduits and drain pipes[4] and some were also covered with lead, lead was also used for piping and for making baths.[5] In medieval times anyone who worked with lead was referred to as a plumber as can be seen from an extract of workmen fixing a roof in Westminster Palace and were referred to as plumbers "To Gilbert de Westminster, plumber, working about the roof of the pantry of the little hall, covering it with lead, and about various defects in the roof of the little hall".[6] Thus a person with expertise in working with lead was first known as a Plumbarius which was later shortened to plumber.

Galvanized steel potable water supply and distribution pipes are commonly found with nominal pipe sizes from 3⁄8 inch (9.5 mm) to 2 inches (51 mm). It is rarely used today for new construction residential plumbing. Steel pipe has National Pipe Thread (NPT) standard tapered male threads, which connect with female tapered threads on elbows, tees, couplers, valves, and other fittings. Galvanized steel (often known simply as "galv" or "iron" in the plumbing trade) is relatively expensive, and difficult to work with due to weight and requirement of a pipe threader. It remains in common use for repair of existing "galv" systems and to satisfy building code non-combustibility requirements typically found in hotels, apartment buildings and other commercial applications. It is also extremely durable and resistant to mechanical abuse. Black lacquered steel pipe is the most widely used pipe material for fire sprinklers and natural gas.
The straight sections of plumbing systems are called "pipes" or "tubes". A pipe is typically formed via casting or welding, whereas a tube is made through extrusion. Pipe normally has thicker walls and may be threaded or welded, while tubing is thinner-walled and requires special joining techniques such as brazing, compression fitting, crimping, or for plastics, solvent welding. These joining techniques are discussed in more detail in the piping and plumbing fittings article.

Water pressure should be checked at least once a year or whenever you have a plumber in your home. When we visit a doctor, no matter the reason, they will always check a patient’s blood pressure. Water pressure should be treated similarly. A pressure-reducing device in proper working order is incredibly important to maintaining a healthy water delivery system in your home. Water pressure should never exceed 80 psi. Anything reading above 80 psi. is an indication of a failing water pressure-reducing device and should be addressed as soon as possible. If you're unsure about your water pressure, we can visit your home and use a gauge to measure your incoming water pressure for you. Then we can discuss any options that might be available to give you peace of mind and ensure a healthy water system.

Most typical single family home systems won't require supply piping larger than 3⁄4 inch (19 mm) due to expense as well as steel piping's tendency to become obstructed from internal rusting and mineral deposits forming on the inside of the pipe over time once the internal galvanizing zinc coating has degraded. In potable water distribution service, galvanized steel pipe has a service life of about 30 to 50 years, although it is not uncommon for it to be less in geographic areas with corrosive water contaminants.
