I had a main line clog, and I called All Star Service & Repair. Upon unclogging the main line for only $150 (bids from other companies ranging from $300-500) they sent the camera down the line to show me, so I could see for myself how my sewer line looked. Horrible news, but my lines needed a trenchless sewer line replacement. All Star had the line replaced completely in 3 days. From drilling out the concrete for an access point, replacing the sewer line, and patching up the concrete. They were professional, very clean and respectful working in my house. Not to mention the cheapest bid! They made the experience the best they could for the situation. I would recommend them to anyone!! Thanks Again!

Wall thickness does not affect pipe or tubing size.[20] 1/2" L copper has the same outer diameter as 1/2" K or M copper. The same applies to pipe schedules. As a result, a slight increase in pressure losses is realized due to a decrease in flowpath as wall thickness is increased. In other words, 1 foot of 1/2" L copper has slightly less volume than 1 foot of 1/2 M copper.[citation needed]

“I was having an issue with a bad smell coming from my basement. I had absolutely no idea what could be causing this so, I called Drain Rescue because I realized that this smell was coming directly from a drain in my basement. The customer service rep told me she would be sending over a drain specialist to assess the situation because this seemed as though it was indeed a drainage issue. The technician arrived, scoped the work and was able to determine what the problem was. Knowing I had absolutely no idea of what was going on, the tech explained everything to me and made sure I understood what the problem was and what he was going to do to fix it. I felt comfortable agreeing to the work he suggested needed to be done and, it was the best decision I ever made. The job was not as expensive as I thought it would be and, most importantly, I no longer have smelly basement! Thanks Drain Rescue!”

Plumbing originated during ancient civilizations such as the Greek, Roman, Persian, Indian, and Chinese cities as they developed public baths and needed to provide potable water and wastewater removal, for larger numbers of people.[6] Standardized earthen plumbing pipes with broad flanges making use of asphalt for preventing leakages appeared in the urban settlements of the Indus Valley Civilization by 2700 BC.[7] The Romans used lead pipe inscriptions to prevent water theft. The word "plumber" dates from the Roman Empire.[8] The Latin for lead is plumbum. Roman roofs used lead in conduits and drain pipes[9] and some were also covered with lead, lead was also used for piping and for making baths.[10]

Our goal in business is to treat all of our customers like friends; always treating them with respect, fairness, and honesty. We are a family owned and operated Connecticut plumbing company, and because of this all of our customers receive the attention that they deserve. Mike Marandino, the owner of the company, (as well as master plumber) works out on the road right alongside his employees. He or his wife handles all calls personally and it's the personal touch that makes us special. We strive for 100% satisfaction, and if for any reason a customer of ours isn't satisfied we promise we'll make it right.
With experience and expertise, your plumber will be able to inspect your plumbing fixtures and identify where any problems may have originated. With the right tools on hand, they’ll be able to fix the problem, right there and then. If your water heater has  triggered a full-blown flood, they’ll know exactly how and where to shut off the water supply. Should the flood be the result of a burst pipe, they’ll be able to change it before it can do any additional damage. Plumbers know a lot about their craft that we do not, and the Handy platform gives you the opportunity to book them and benefit from their knowledge and ability.

We have been fixing slab leaks in Phoenix, San Diego and the Inland Empire for decades. A common plumbing problem in Phoenix, San Diego and the Inland Empire is when there is a leak under the floor and you may find a hot or warm spot in you home. Plumbers refer to this as a slab leak because it usually occurs under a slab of concrete, whether it’s a sidewalk, patio, or a leak under the foundation.p>

Wooden pipes were used in London and elsewhere during the 16th and 17th centuries. The pipes were hollowed-out logs, which were tapered at the end with a small hole in which the water would pass through.[16] The multiple pipes were then sealed together with hot animal fat. They were often used in Montreal and Boston in the 1800s, and built-up wooden tubes were widely used in the USA during the 20th century. These pipes, used in place of corrugated iron or reinforced concrete pipes, were made of sections cut from short lengths of wood. Locking of adjacent rings with hardwood dowel pins produced a flexible structure. About 100,000 feet of these wooden pipes were installed during WW2 in drainage culverts, storm sewers and conduits, under highways and at army camps, naval stations, airfields and ordnance plants.

Water systems of ancient times relied on gravity for the supply of water, using pipes or channels usually made of clay, lead, bamboo, wood, or stone. Hollowed wooden logs wrapped in steel banding were used for plumbing pipes, particularly water mains. Logs were used for water distribution in England close to 500 years ago. US cities began using hollowed logs in the late 1700s through the 1800s. Today, most plumbing supply pipe is made out of steel, copper, and plastic; most waste (also known as "soil")[21] out of steel, copper, plastic, and cast iron.[21]

Galvanized steel potable water supply and distribution pipes are commonly found with nominal pipe sizes from 3⁄8 inch (9.5 mm) to 2 inches (51 mm). It is rarely used today for new construction residential plumbing. Steel pipe has National Pipe Thread (NPT) standard tapered male threads, which connect with female tapered threads on elbows, tees, couplers, valves, and other fittings. Galvanized steel (often known simply as "galv" or "iron" in the plumbing trade) is relatively expensive, and difficult to work with due to weight and requirement of a pipe threader. It remains in common use for repair of existing "galv" systems and to satisfy building code non-combustibility requirements typically found in hotels, apartment buildings and other commercial applications. It is also extremely durable and resistant to mechanical abuse. Black lacquered steel pipe is the most widely used pipe material for fire sprinklers and natural gas.

Ernie's is great and got Chuck out within 2 hours! He got the gas control valve covered under the manufacturer warranty by calling them and dealing with the red tape to get them to replace it for free (a $225 value for the part cost). I only had to pay $250 for the labor of the part replacement installation. Chuck went to three locations to find the part I needed and got the manufacturer to cover it without me needing to pay for it and then chase them for reimbursement later. After getting the part he had it installed within 30 mins and the hot water tank was running like new. Ask for Chuck, he does great work and will try to get your part covered under warranty if possible!
